CCB Wins Third!!
Before I rap up Seoul or get into the holiday here is some great news! I have mentioned this to some of you already but in case you haven't heard I came in third for the WashU photo contest! Here is the link!

The contest was intended to find the photos that best embody the "WashU experience." So photos of students and life around WashU were encouraged, so some of the winners may look cheesy.
The photo I submitted is a self-timer shot from our trip to the Great Wall in China. For winners they professionally print out and frame a 24"x36" and exhibit it in the student center before giving it to the winner. I'm pretty excited!

Longest Day of My life
On Monday I experienced the longest day of my life. 38 hours total.
It started with the ending of my last Sam-cha in Korea. Sam-cha is a term used to describe 3rd round, usually third rounds have significance when going out in Korea. They mean something more than just a night out being that it was my last night in Korea I believe it qualified as a Sam-cha. The first rounds were fried chicken and Korean BBQ.
By 9 AM I was up packing and soon on my way to the airport, I then landed by8 AM after an epic ten hour flight. I was crammed into a window seat with my sweatshirt, jacket and one of my carry on bags but couldn't have been happier that all my junk was with me and venturing back home.
When I landed at SFO after a 10 Hour or -7 hour flight depending how you look at it. I was fortunate enough to be reacquainted with a friend of mine. Alyssa is one of my great friends from Hobart who volunteered to pick me up from the Airport and take me around. She commented; "You always just randomly pop up on me in California." Which is quite true but great because we always enjoy our time together. So after a walk around the park and a stare at the ocean we went to In-N-Out Burger before returning me to SFO for the final leg of my journey. It was great to see her.
After another 5 hour jaunt in the air I eventually made it home to New York in the comfort of my family its great to see them. I miss Seoul indeed, but its hard to not be excited at home with Christmas, New Years, and all my family.

Beginning of the end
The weather is cloudy and rainy two of my great roommates have departed and the studio is emptying a little bit each day. I don't want to leave quite yet but this bittersweet-ness is getting a bit tense. So with that noted, I am looking forward to my final "rentre à la maison."
I have met quite the amount of great Korean individuals. And architects of many kind. When you experience things in life you tend to be pulled in certain directions. Those directions ultimately determining your path; path of life. It is really interesting right now for me, considering how much in the future Korea can, and will influence my path.

1 and 2 Weeks
My time in Seoul... and Korea... and Asia is coming to a close shortly. Hopefully the close won't be too long, I'd love to get back here some day.
In one week I will be done with my studio project and in two weeks I will be home back in New York. Within that time frame I hope to never rest and continue to explore... and (I guess) present my work well also. Actually I am really looking forward to completing this terms work. June, my studio professor really has been a great friend and mentor. He has pushed me to challenge and solidify my ideas, pretty fun. The week after review I'll pretend I am a tourist to Seoul and try to see a lot of sights, and live it up.
By the way I am really STOKED about my first minutes back in the US! I have an almost 6 hour layover at SFO. So I plan to jump on the BART, run around San Francisco, hopefully meet up with my great friend Alyssa and before getting on the plane... scarf down one animal style at In-N-Out Burger! So as much as I'll be missing Korea, that morning and lunch in San Francisco will make my homecoming glorious.
I really will miss my Urban Issues class.
Oh and for those who wonder what I actually have been working on this semester (or why I am here) here's some photos of one of the many models I have made. I know people might see this as crazy (which is pretty valid I'll admit) but its supposed to be a conceptual model of an apartment complex and how units can be arranged or stacked.

Adopted Family T-Giving!
Andy (Babe) and Jordy (Babe)
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It culminates with the best of the best... Family, Food, Football.
This is the first year I will be spending Thanksgiving outside of America and without Family. Luckily I have great roommates here. So they are my new adopted family. We get along really well and enjoy our time together, and have helped eachother grow and adjust to the new culture. Friday will be our day of celebration with our friends and professors.
Willie and Nick
If Jordy, Nick, Willie and Zimm are my adopted family then Taejun is our step brother. Of course we get along as step brothers. To be correctly Korean Taejun is my older brother. Hyung-Taejun. I couldnt have survived here without him... thanks older brother.
Zimm lighted the fire by motivating us for the whole turkey day feast.
